UK Scraps Porn Ban, Companies Seek £3M in Reparations

In Porn News by KinkStraightGuy

For months we have been reporting on the UK and their alleged porn ban.  Plans were put into place just a few years ago to have an age verification system for porn watchers in the UK.  The ban, which was supposed to come into play on April 1, 2019, was intended to prevent underage persons from browsing adult content.

The plans from the UK have been met with criticism by the public.  Cheeky Brits still crave their cheeky wanks. They don’t want to be monitored as they have a “Tommy Tank.”

The rules and regulations of a porn ban restrict free movement online.  They also restrict sexual expression. As a process, the age identification process allows for data collection and user identification that is normally reserved for premium customers.  Without a premium price ensuring user data protections, the UK porn ban has stumbled out of the starting blocks with its ban plans.

Cancelled Plans

The order for the UK porn ban came from parliament.  Recently these regulations were revered. Baroness Morgan killed the UK porn ban plans in October of 2019.  Issues with privacy in addition to freedom protections were cited as primary reasons for the drop.

Companies Sue

With a backtrack in regulations, a number of companies have taken punitive action to recover losses.  Several companies planned to take the burden off of UK browsers by creating anonymous age verifying software.  AgeChecked, VeriMe, AVYourself and AVSecure are all suing the UK government.  Their claims seek £3m in damages.

More to come as this story develops.
